This year LAF was pleased to award nearly $40,000 in scholarships and fellowships to 10 outstanding university students. These scholarships are made possible by generous contributions from the scholarship sponsors and LAF donors.

The Landscape Performance Series (LPS) is a set of initiatives to fill a critical gap in the marketplace and make the concept of “Landscape Performance” and its contribution to sustainability as well known as “Building Performance” is today. The Landscape Performance Series shows the value of sustainable landscape solutions and provides tools for designers, agencies and advocates to quantify benefits and make the case for sustainable landscapes.

Emily Vogler, a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania, has been selected as the 2010 National Olmsted Scholar and recipient of the $25,000 award. Also honored are five national finalists: David Godshall, University of California, Berkeley; Lauren Hackney, University of Virginia; Christopher Hardy, Cornell University; Caitlin Harrigan, University of British Columbia; and Amanda Jeter, University of Colorado, Denver.
