Benefits Toolkit
The Landscape Performance Series Benefits Toolkit is a searchable collection of online tools and calculators to estimate landscape performance.
The tools can be used to estimate specific landscape benefits for completed projects when actual measurements are not available, or they can be used in the design phase to compare projected benefits among various options. Many tools also allow the user to compare life-cycle costs for conventional and sustainable design features.

Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Tradeoffs (InVEST)
The Natural Capital Project
2008InVEST aims to provide a consistent methodology for measuring and comparing the valueof multiple ecosystem services across real landscapes. The InVEST 1.004 Beta packageoffers models for carbon sequestration, crop pollination, managed timber production, water purification (for nutrients), reservoir hydropower production, and sediment retentionfor reservoir maintenance. It also includes a biodiversity model so that tradeoffs betweenbiodiversity and ecosystem services can be assessed. Models will be released soon forother services, including flood mitigation, irrigation, agricultural production, recreation andtourism, and cultural benefits. InVEST currently runs in ArcGIS 9.2 service pack 2, ArcGIS9.2 SP 6 and ArcGIS 9.3 SP 1
