General Submission Guidelines

Please submit a CD containing all of the required application contents.  The application package must be postmarked by the deadlines and mailed to:

Application Contents

To submit an application, you must provide:

1. General Submission Form
    Download and complete the form. For team submissions, please complete only one form and identify a contact.
2. Photo
   Please provide a 300 ppi (pixels per inch) color photo, size 4 x 6 inches in .jpg format. For the required photo, please provide a head shot with a plain background and look directly at the camera. LAF retains the right to use photos submitted on our website and in materials promoting LAF’s Scholarship Programs.
3. Specific Submission Requirements
   Please consult the page for the scholarship to which you are applying for additional submission requirements.

     NOTE: Additional materials will not be reviewed.

Additional instructions:

• Submit all documents as separate files in Word or PDF format with at least 1” margins and using 10 point font or larger.
• Include page number and applicant name/document name/award name on all pages of all documents. For example:
             John Smith/Essay/Named Scholarship
  Page 1 of 3
• Applications must adhere to submission guidelines and deadlines in order to be considered. 

 

Letters of Recommendation

Letters of recommendation are required for all scholarships and fellowships except the Rain Bird Intelligent Use of Water Scholarship. The letters should be sent by email from the recommender’s personal university or corporate account to scholarships@lafoundation.org.

Recommenders are responsible for ensuring receipt of their letters and should request delivery and read receipts.  This can be done with Microsoft Outlook by clicking on “options” in the email toolbar and requesting delivery and read receipts under the heading, “Voting and Tracking Options.”

All letters of recommendation must be received by LAF on or before the application deadlines.
