Submission and Formatting Instructions
Please submit a CD containing all of the required application contents. The application package must be postmarked by the deadlines (February 1--Douglas Dockery Thomas Fellowship; February 16--all scholarships) and mailed to:

- Submit all documents as separate files in Word or PDF format with one-inch minimum margins and minimum 10 point font.
- Include page number and applicant name/document name/award name on all pages of all documents, for example:
--Page 1 of 3
--John Smith/Essay/Named Scholarship.
Applications must adhere to submission guidelines and deadlines in order to be considered.
Letters of Recommendation
(Required for all scholarships and fellowships except the Rain Bird Intelligent Use of Water Scholarship)
- Letters of recommendation should be sent by email from the recommender's personal university or corporate account to scholarships@lafoundation.org.
- Recommenders are responsible for ensuring receipt of their letters and should request delivery and read receipts. This can be done with Microsoft Outlook by clicking on "options" in the email toolbar and requesting delivery and read receipts under the heading, "Voting and Tracking Options."
- All letters of recommendation must be received at LAF by the application deadlines: February 1, 2010 (Douglas Dockery Thomas Fellowship) and February 16, 2010 (all scholarships).
