The Future Now summit is built on the belief that strategic actions are fundamental to change.
LAF’s Future Now: Taking Action for People + Planet by Design summit will bring together the landscape architecture community and allies to inspire innovative ideas and empower individual and collective action. Building on what was started 10 years ago with the release of the New Landscape Declaration, and happening at a time when our values for the planet and the people are needed most, this convening affirms the power of collective leadership and collaboration to drive meaningful change.
Over the course of two days encompassing lightning talks, keynote speakers, workshops, and panels, summit participants will gather to identify, share, and scale actions that address climate, inequities and strengthen resilience for communities and the world’s living systems. An optional third day will include field sessions throughout Detroit to demonstrate ideas as actions.
More than a convening, this is a call to action—an invitation to join LAF as a collective voice committed to continuing the work of shaping a future that designs for climate, biodiversity, equity, and inclusion.
