AWARD: $5,000
DEADLINE: February 1

This scholarship was established by V3 Companies to support the next generation of landscape architecture professionals by helping ease the financial barriers that can stand between students and their goals. V3, a multi-disciplinary firm with a team of 450+ engineers, scientists, and designers dedicated to solving real-world planning, infrastructure, and environmental concerns. V3 believes that talent, creativity, and passion should have the opportunity to thrive, regardless of financial circumstances.

By providing financial support, the scholarship gives students greater opportunity to focus on their education, develop their skills, explore their interests, and build a strong foundation for their future careers. V3 also hopes to engage with scholarship recipients by creating in-person opportunities for mentorship and professional exposure to empower the recipients to pursue their aspirations with confidence, embrace new opportunities, and discover the many ways they can make a meaningful difference through landscape architecture.

V3 believes in going beyond limits — not only in the work they do, but in the opportunities they create for others. Through this scholarship, they are proud to invest in students who will bring fresh ideas, diverse perspectives, and a passion for shaping the places and communities of tomorrow.

The scholarship is open to currently-enrolled undergraduate students studying landscape architecture at Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board (LAAB) accredited programs in the United States. To be eligible, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen, have a minimum "B" grade point average (2.5 on a 4-point scale), and the applicant’s university or permanent residence must be in one of the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, North Carolina or South Carolina.

Candidates must demonstrate financial need and the ability to overcome challenges. Applicants will also be evaluated based on their community and campus involvement (such as through volunteering or clubs), work experience of any kind (including part-time, occasional, service-industry, and other jobs unrelated to a student's academic or career interests), and promise as a future landscape architect.

LAF is grateful to the many individuals and organizations that provide financial support towards fulfilling our mission to increase the transformational impact of landscape architects and allies.

Much of what LAF is able to accomplish would not be possible without the thought leadership and financial investment of our major supporters, including the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), which provides over $125,000 of in-kind support annually.
