LAF 36th Annual Benefit

Hundreds of guests mingle in a courtyard framed by palm trees at the 2019 LAF Annual Benefit

Join the Landscape Architecture Foundation, top designers, and leaders from practice, academia, and industry for a lively evening.

We are so excited to see everyone in person again — in Nashville at the Country Music Hall of Fame! With soaring 40-foot glass windows, attendees will have a stunning view of the Music City skyline.

The benefit will recognize the exceptional students named as 2021 LAF Olmsted Scholars and celebrate the transformative work of LAF's program participants and grant recipients.

Tickets include fine local food and an open bar with all proceeds supporting LAF research, scholarships, and leadership programs.

The LAF Annual Benefit is always a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new connections. Attendees include well-known designers, rising leaders, professors, suppliers, emerging professionals, and students. The short program allows plenty of time for introductions and interaction.

"The LAF Benefit is the must-attend party during the ASLA conference! I get to see so many amazing people all in one place."

The venue is specially chosen to provide local flavor. Past locations have ranged from art museums and planetariums to funky theatres and rooftops. (The LAF Annual Benefit was at LA's Union Station waaay before the Oscars.)

Annual Benefit FAQs

What about COVID and its emerging variants? While we are thrilled at the prospect of gathering in person again, please know that protecting everyone’s health is our top priority. With that said:

  • Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 will be required to attend LAF’s 36th Annual Benefit.
  • At this time, the use of masks will not be required by attendees, but you will be welcome to wear one if you prefer.
  • In addition to continuing to monitor the situation and following the protocols mandated by the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Metro Government of Nashville and Davidson County, we will make any additional adjustments necessary (e.g. requiring masks, limiting capacity, canceling the event, etc.) to ensure the safety of our guests.
  • If we must cancel the event: anyone who has purchased a ticket to the in-person event will be given the option to transfer their registration to our replacement virtual event, convert their ticket purchase to a donation to LAF, or receive a refund.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No.

What is the attire for the event? Cocktail attire.

Is my registration tax-deductible? Yes, a portion of your purchase is tax-deductible (excluding tickets purchased at the student rate) and LAF will issue a separate emailed receipt to the ticket buyer.

Is my registration transferrable/can I update my registration information? Yes. If you can no longer attend and would like to send someone in your place, you can update your registration via the Eventbrite website through Friday, November 8. After that date, contact Justin at jwestley [at] with any modifications.

Who can I contact with additional questions? For questions regarding your registration, contact Justin at jwestley [at]

LAF is grateful to the many individuals and organizations that provide financial support towards fulfilling our mission to support the preservation, improvement, and enhancement of the environment.

Much of what LAF is able to accomplish would not be possible without the thought leadership and financial investment of our major supporters, including ASLA, which provides over $125,000 of in-kind support annually.
