Have something to say? Apply to speak at LAF’s 2026 Summit!

Planned for June 4-6 in Detroit, the Landscape Architecture Foundation's (LAF) 2026 Summit will demonstrate taking innovative ideas to action to shift paradigms and address climate change, biodiversity, and equity through initiatives big and small.

Soon LAF will be accepting proposals for 10-minute lightning talks (day 1) and 1.5-hour workshops (day 2) through an open call. Both proposal types must energize the audience and demonstrate thought leadership through actions, ideas, and innovations that align with the calls to action in LAF's New Landscape Declaration and subsequent Action Plan.

We want to hear from you about what works and what is possible. Been working on an issue that is ripe for landscape architects to play a more central role? Developed a replicable framework for co-creation? Want to share a lens for decolonizing design? Have a new model for design practice that moves beyond the client-driven professional services model? We want to hear your success stories and how you would challenge others to do more. We want everyone in attendance to leave inspired and with new tools to act!

Submissions are welcome from landscape architecture professionals, academics, students, and those with non-landscape architecture backgrounds. Submissions are due December 30.

Much of what LAF is able to accomplish would not be possible without the thought leadership and financial investment of our major supporters, including ASLA, which provides over $125,000 of in-kind support annually.
